Athena Cannon, PharmD
Athena is an ambulatory care pharmacist working at the Indian Health Board Medical Clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a consultant with Drug Free Sport International, and the founding Chair of the U.S. Sports Pharmacy Group. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy and the Pharmaceutical Care Leadership Residency with the University of Minnesota. She has served as an expert in the field of sports pharmacy through research, lecturing, consulting, and committee work.

Mitch Howard, PharmD, MBA, BCCP
Mitch is a clinical assistant professor, ambulatory care & community pharmacist in Toledo, OH. He has completed the International Olympic Committee’s Certificate in Drugs in Sport. Mitch has provided lectures on over-the-counter medications to athletic training students at The University of Toledo.
His sports pharmacy research includes: the perspectives of athletes and pharmacists on pharmacist-provided sports supplement counseling; and the medication-related needs of sports medicine organizations. -
Amanda Ward, PharmD, MS, BCGP
Amanda W. is passionate about pharmacists finding unique ways to impact patients. Since graduating from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in 2008, Dr. Ward has held several non-traditional pharmacist roles. She has worked as a long term care pharmacist where she obtained her board certification in geriatric pharmacy, community pharmacist, regulatory consultant pharmacist, managed care pharmacist, and an ambulatory care pharmacist. In 2021, Dr. Ward obtained her MS Pharmacy degree in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy from the University of Florida, in the pharmaceutical regulation specialty track.

Fay Ansaray, PharmD
Fay is a hospital pharmacist. She received her Bachelor’s degree of Science from the Schreyer’s Honors College at Penn State Harrisburg in May 2016. Following graduation, she attended and obtained her PharmD degree from the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy at East Tennessee State University in May 2022. Fay is tying her experiences of being a pharmacist, former athlete, and coach to teach others on ways to be healthy and happy.

Jessica Beamon, PharmD
Jessica is an ambulatory care pharmacist and former student-athlete, who has also graduated from the IOC - Drugs in Sport Certificate. She's currently completing a Masters in Sports Nutrition.

Ruth Beucker, PharmD
Ruth is a residency trained managed care pharmacist working at Humana. She is a member of the U.S. Sports Pharmacy Group Education Committee & recent graduate of the IOC Certificate in Drugs in Sport. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh and completed her PGY-1 Managed Care Residency at Humana. She is a former Division I swimmer, captain, & school record holder.

Catherine Cara, PharmD Candidate
Catherine is currently pursuing her PharmD degree at Washington State University and her Master of Science – Applied Exercise Science: Exercise Physiology degree at Concordia University in Chicago. She is the co-founder of AthleteRx, an organization dedicated to introducing WSU student pharmacists to the world of sports pharmacy

Myra Grossman, PharmD Candidate
Myra is a P1 student at West Virginia University. She recently became involved in USSPG over the past year and has really enjoyed it. She has competitively played many sports growing up such as competitive ski racing and soccer. She likes USSPG because it allows her to integrate her two passions which are pharmacy and sports.

Kasja Dymek, PharmD
Kasja, a PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident at Mount Sinai Morningside and West Hospital in New York City, earned her PharmD from Rutgers University. Her passion for sports pharmacy stems from competing nationally and collegiately in swimming, inspiring her to merge her athletic and professional experience to help advance sports pharmacy.
